We use "blog" to arrange and share the data.
 

Project research - Initially, we needed to collect related data and information. Our conductor established a "blog": "Changhua String Ensemble Development League Research Website" on the web of our school, so that we could upload and share the data with others. Next, we searched for data on the web or looked for journals and papers in the library during discussion time everyday. We also studied the data which our teachers brought back from CSEDL and the school ensemble, and wrote down the reflection.

Reflection of studying related data:
Yesterday, Mr. Wu and Mr. Chang showed us a lot of related data including introductions of the string ensemble of each school, so we know there are 38 members in the string ensemble of Hemei Elementary School. More surprisingly, there are 120 members in another one! (Little Yo)

Searching
Searching for related data.
 

Yesterday morning, we went to Teacher Study Room and read much related data. I found that most of the string ensembles were pushed by Dr. Yang Dao-Bin. He has changed the opinions of many teachers about learning the violin, and made every student in the orchestras happy and willing to learn. (Wang Wang)



On-spot Visits

To realize more about the activities of CSEDL, we visited its activities during appropriate time. What we have visited were the teaching of the string ensemble at schools, the main department of CSEDL, and the video-recording for CSEDL's self-edit teaching text, etc.

Reflection of visiting:
In the afternoon, we visited the class of the school string ensemble on spot. The members practiced alone in several small divisions, and then gathered and played music together. There were around 30 members. The teacher called several kids to arrange the music scope and let someone play it with the violin. Finally, all the members co-played the songs: "Flying for the train" and "Happy song". (Chai Hong)

Ms. Chen, the supervisor told us CSEDL's ideal and plan.

 

During this time, we interviewed many people who have close relationship with CSEDL. They understand things about the string ensembles very well, and we thank a lot for the first-hand data they provided.

We have interviewed Ms. Chen Shu-Mei, the school supervisor of Changhua Education Bureau, Principal Li Wen-Zhong of the associated school, Mr. Shi Xian-Xun, who is responsible for string ensemble activities in the school, Dr. Yang Dao-Bin, the founder of the string ensemble, Ms. Xiao Yi-Ling, the art-director of CSEDL, the administration-director of the school ensemble and the affairs-chief of the school string ensemble.



Questionnaire

We discussed if the content of the questionnaire is appropriate.

 

 

 

 

 

 

At first, we made some questions to edit the questionnaire. Then we pre-tested and corrected it. Finally, we edited up the formal questionnaire. Next, we distributed the formal questionnaires to the kids in the string ensemble. We thank Ms. Ni, the director of the school string ensemble for distributing and retrieving the questionnaires. After retrieving the questionnaires, we gathered the statistical results of the questionnaire investigation. We analyzed the opinions of the children according to the statistical results and presented them on the website finally.

We classified the collection of data and photos, and edited web-pages with the data. Mr. Wu Wen-Quan conducted data-analyzing, Mr. Li Chia-Feng conducted webpage-making, and Mr. Zhang Zun-Lang conducted art-designing. At first, we divided the data of the website into seven subgroups and corrected the word draft again. Second, we managed, beautified and shrank the photos. Finally, we created beautiful webpages.
