The recruitment of the school ensemble is in the 2nd semester of the 1st graders. The school holds a parent explanation meeting to explain the problems about the funds, the instruments and the place, etc. Then parents fill in the inquiry form of join-will. Students who join in the ensemble start to learn when they go to the 2nd grade. There are 2 sub-ensembles in our school ensemble. The 1st ensemble has been founded for 2 years. The 2nd has been founded for only a semester.

The works that the string ensemble requests the school to help with are as the following:
- Hold preparatory meeting.
- Help hold parents explanation meeting.
- Select the director and the affairs-chief from the parents.
- Provide the ensemble with chances of every-year in-and-out-school performances, such as Christmas concert, Children's Day concert, or in the sports meet, etc.
|
Participation of parents is the key of the ensemble's success. |
The director is in charge of the ensemble's daily affairs, such as on-class supervision and assistance, and coordinating the time and place for performances, etc. The affairs-chief is responsible for collecting money, and allotting the money to the instrument company, the teachers, and CSEDL.
Most parents's reflection is that kids learn very well, and the teachers teach very earnestly and patiently. They agree that people should start to develop the interest of playing the violin in an early age. As kids perform, they get confidence. As they get applause, they have honor. With confidence and honor, they will learn better and better.
Furthermore, learning string music can cultivate oneself and foster good interest. And the accomplishment of learning the string music will help one learn other instruments. In the adulthood, everyone can play some instruments to enrich the life.

The teacher is conducting kids. |
Mr. Shi thinks a good string ensemble requires the conditions below:
- Sufficient funds.
- Excellent teachers.
- Students with strong will-to-learn.
- The administrative support from school teachers.
- The support from parents.
